Answer: 480 out of 25,000

Question: What is the number of people chosen as Jeopardy! contestants each year out of the thousands that audition?

That's your factoid of the day. I haven't posted in a while, have little to say and am valiantly resisting Jenny's meme, so this is what I came up with. Yes, I did get sucked into a few minutes of a Jeopardy! behind-the-scenes show on TV Guide channel last week, and the number above was an interesting tidbit, so I thought I'd share.

By the way, in a totally unrelated comment, 12 days till we go to L.A.

I sense your resistence is weakening. You are powerless against my meme. You can't hold out much longer...

p.s. does Abbey get to go to LA, too?

You kind of lose the anonymity when you then add a P.S. :)

Abigail won't make the cross-country trek this time. The activities which we will be involved in do not allow children under 8 to be on the premises. Plus, beyond Myrtle Beach, Florida and one weekend in the mountains, Brad and I have never taken a vacation together. So we get to explore somewhere new, with no familial requirements, essentially for free, since said activities have a guarantee minimum, uh, return. :)

(I knew my anonymity would be compromised. heh heh.)
Wow, fun vacation for the two of you.
We went to Florida a year ago for a timeshare sales pitch, with no intention of buying but for a nice trip (as you recall from my blog I am sure) and were warned by a friend to be careful or we'd come back pregnant, so we had to gently tell her that we already were. it was a funny way of getting the information out. hee hee. but it was nice to not have to worry about naptimes and bedtimes, etc. AND he had a blast with aunt tara and my brother the thief.
