Stealing

I'm stealing this from a., but given my collegiate history with Monty and the gang, I simply had to let everyone know about the record-breaking number of people clip-clopping with coconuts to "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life."

No word on whether African or European swallows were used for the coconut transport.

"But they could grip it by the husk..."

By the way, if anyone can find this as a sound clip, I'd love you forever. :)

Ahh, I knew YouTube would come through. I found one with the entire song, too!

Did I mention this was my answering machine message freshman year? My dad hated it :) (though he loved him some Monty)

I remember the days when World Records actually meant something, the days when the Guinness Book of World Records actually contained a complete listing of current records (and, erm, which I may have attempted to memorize). Now it's all about the obscure and quirky records.

Even the once-sacrosanct Competitive Eating records have been sullied by the focus on specific products thanks to the International Federation of Competitive Eating (http://www.ifoce.com/records.php). Armour Vienna Sausage? Cow brains? Give me a break.

[or perhaps I'm just bitter because I never reached the top tier of competitive eaters]
