Time for my own product review. While not as exciting to the common 20-something as a new Mac, I have a new toy. A new vacuum!! Now we are so happy, we do the dance of joy!
It's a lovely red Kenmore, which is absolutely leaps and bounds ahead of my old vacuum, that which shall not be named. I had to empty the canister after every room -- and I've now vacuumed two days in a row! How exciting. How disturbing, too. What kind of filth were we living in the past few years, the exact years that my child was most likely to be playing on the floor? But hooray for my Kenmore, which has a lovely self-propelled action and very easy canister removal and replacement, plus a snazzy little flicky thing for cleaning out the hepa filter. A definite thumbs up.
More posts on the way. Long holiday weekend + visiting mother = several thoughts not put down on "paper."

Welcome to my odditorium, a collection of curiosities made up of snippets about my life and occasional machinations on deeper subjects.

We had hardwood floors with rugs in my house. I remember when we upgraded to a new vacuum and finally got a beater bar attachment for the rugs. The stuff that came out of them was astounding. My dad and myself did each rug several times. Actually as a side note, a new vacuum is a simple way to get men interested in doing the vacuuming.
You and Kelly, with your vaccum cleaner epiphanies. =)
What lucky bob said is true...hubby bought our vacuum, unprompted, off QVC no less. I found that infinitely amusing. He then showed an astounding talent for getting those triangle patterns that hotels and nice places have in their vacuumed carpet. Now I'm on to him.
I was highly excited by my vaccum- almost more excited about that than my mac. And I remember vaccuming a 9 square foot section of my living room then having to empty the canister. Gross! My vaccum actually made the short list on items that I take with me in my journeys. Other travelers seem to think this is a bit OCD, but I like a clean room! Happy cleaning with the new toy!
