Suzy Homemaker
Abigail will be 5 on Friday (how?!?!?!?!), and her party is going to be at Monkey Joe's, a warehouse-like place with tons of inflatables for the kids to go wild on. Intelligent mommy that I am, it's an afternoon party, thus only cake required. Since it's a loosely themed party, I decided on Curious George books as the party favor and a monkey cake. Or at least I'll be attempting this cake. It is a Martha recipe, and I just don't have piping bags and various kinds of tips lying about, so I'll be making some adjustments that may not be "a good thing." But I generally pull off baking, and mom will be here to help, so it should be fun.

Please note from images of a certain boy's first birthday this week that I am still basking in the fact that my boys don't know that cakes come decorated yet. :)
I can't believe Abigail is going to be five!
And that cake is absolutely adorable.
Have fun at Monkey Joe's!
Your mom pulls off a LAMB cake, she can handle a monkey cake.
Have fun holding your breath while all the little kids catapult towards each other on those inflatable rides! Have some of those shake-up cold packs ready and waiting-- we had several "head injuries" at collin's 3rd birthday party with the inflatable jumpy castle thing.
5 years old, AND starting school. Wow. Such a big girl! Enjoy the fun!
Ah, yes, but the lamb's head always falls off! Hopefully George won't lose an ear before she blows out th candles.
